When I was asked to contribute a piece for this collection of remembrances of longtime ESPN reporter Pedro Gomez, compiled by Pedro's close friend Steve Kettmann, I knew immediately what I would write about: my 1989 summer internship in San Diego, where I crashed for weeks on Pedro's futon, and the music that would bind us for the next four-plus decades.
