In the spring of 2012, I came off the MLB beat to chronicle Robert Griffin III's rookie NFL season for The Washington Post. And somewhere around Week 6, when RG3 unleashed an electrifying, 76-yard touchdown run against the Vikings, I knew it was going to be a book. Unfortunately, neither Griffin's career nor my subsequent book sales could overcome the serious knee injury he suffered towards the end of that historic 2012 season.
